K-pop idol Gongchan of boy band B1A4 has undergone surgery to remove his kidney, his agency WM Entertainment said in a press release Monday. The official said the youngest member of B1A4 received surgery to remove one of his kidneys at a hospital today after finding out that one of them was not functioning well."Gongchan began to experience severe pain in June, when the group started to promote 'Baby Good Night.' After a thorough medical examination, he has decided to undergo surgery," a WM rep said in the statement, adding that the singer originally had poor kidneys since birth. The official explained that Gongchan had pushed back his surgery because he did not want the fans to worry about his condition. He will also be in the hospital for a week in order to recover and take a break from the group's upcoming activities. In the meantime, B1A4 will appear in the sixth season of "Hello Baby" on KBS Joy, set to air on July 25. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
