Girls' Generation to release 1st Japanese and repackaged album in Korea

Top K-pop female idols Girls' Generation will unleash their first full-length Japanese album and its repackaged version in Korea this week. A press release from their agency SM Entertainment stated that Girls' Generation's double platinum first full-length Japanese album "GIRLS' GENERATION" and its repackaged version "GIRLS' GENERATION~The Boys~" will hit local stores today. "GIRLS' GENERATION," which went on sale in Japan in June of last year, is composed of 12 of their hit singles including "Gee," "GENIE," Run Devil Run" and Japanese songs "you-aholic" and "Let It Rain" while the DVD features the music videos to "MR. TAXI," "GENIE" and "GEE." The album was also one of the top-selling K-pop records of 2011 in Japan while the girls became the first international girl group in Oricon history to reach the No. 1 spot on Oricon's weekly chart with their first full-length album. Also, "GIRLS' GENERATION~The Boys~" features the Japanese version of the girls' title track "The Boys" from their third studio release as well as new song "Time Machine" and the remix version of "MR. TAXI," "BAD GIRL" and "THE GREAT ESCAPE."
