Actress E Ji-ah has been confirmed for a role in a new TV series set to premiere in two months time, according to the show's broadcaster MBC on Tuesday.A press release by MBC stated that E will make her return to the small screen for the first time in eight months through Wednesday and Thursday mini-series "Flower, Me Too!" (translated title) set to go on air in early November. It will also be the first time she will take to the public spotlight since April when she rattled the country with news of her secretive marriage and divorce to rock icon Seo Taiji. "It is true we had a lot of concerns regarding when she should take on a new project," the statement quoted E's agency SidusHQ as saying. "But we came to look into it positively not just because of our faith in writer Kim Do-woo and producer Ko Dong-sun but also because the drama and character were very attractive.""And after much serious consideration, we decided this is a project she shouldn't miss on so she should appear in it...... She'll do her best to prepare for her role as much as it's a great chance to stand in front of the public again as an actor," SidusHQ explained. The upcoming drama, a romantic comedy originally known to have been named "The Return of the Queen," will be written by Kim Do-woo of smash hit series "My Name is Kim Sam-soon" (MBC, 2005) and directed by Ko Dong-sun of "Queen of Housewives" (MBC, 2009).E will play the ill-tempered policewoman Cha Bong-sun who falls in love with the cheeky undercover boss Suh Jae-hee while bickering and coming into conflict with him in every way possible."I recently met E for the first time and felt that she has a good understanding and interest in people. The acting she will show viewers will be important but how attractive she is as a person is as important as well so I have high expectations of her," said Kim Do-woo.Producer Ko stated, "She's an actress whose wide spectrum of acting will make it possible for her to express various emotions and actions and she's almost 100 percent in sync with her character so I believe we'll have fun working together."The show is in the process of casting the remainder of its main cast members and will soon go into shoot after finalizing on the details.※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
