'Poseidon' confirmed to hit airwaves in September

Teaser from on the set of "Poseidon" [Annex Telecom]

TV series "Poseidon" has been confirmed to begin its air on major broadcasting company KBS this fall, according to the show's producer Annex Telecom on Thursday. A press release from Annex announced that "Poseidon" which will tell the story of special forces soldiers of the National Maritime Police Academy, will take over the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup after upcoming drama "Spy Myung-Wol" in September. "The show is in talks to air on September 5 but we have also talked with KBS about the show airing the following week just in case 'Spy Myung-Wol' gets extended," an official from Annex told 10Asia over the phone. He went onto explain that they are currently in the process of casting the main characters since several of its actors including male lead Eric has dropped out of the show due to its delay and they are in talks with TVXQ's U-Know Yunho. Originally, "Poseidon" was scheduled to air within the first half of 2011 on SBS but was halted after North Korea's unexpected shelling of South Korea's Yeonpyeong Island last November. The show will be produced by Yoo Cheol-yong and scenarist Cho Kyu-won of blockbuster hit series "IRIS."※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
