Taiwanese director Giddens Ko and actor Ko Chen-tung, also known as Kai Ko, will be in Seoul in two weeks to promote the local release of their film.
On Wednesday, film's local promoter, Mirovision, said in a press release that Giddens Ko and Ko Chen-tung will be in the country to promote their Taiwanese romance feature "You Are the Apple of My Eye" on August 12.
Upon their arrival in Seoul, the two will take part in a press conference and interviews with local media outlets, attend the VIP screening and participate in other promotional events.
Based on the semi-autobiographical novel of the same name about Giddens Ko's life, "You Are the Apple of My Eye" tells the love story between a mischievous student named Ko Ching-teng (Ko Chen-tung) and one of the smartest girls in his class, Shen Chia-yi (Michelle Chen).
Shen begins to open up to Ko after he gives her his book in class. The twosome start studying together after classes and their relationship grows. During their years in university, they begin to give second thoughts about their romance and eventually break up.
15 years later, Shen tells Ko that she is getting married soon and they get together with their friends to reminisce about their old days in school. As a web novelist, Ko then begins to write about his memories with Shen.
The pic made its world premiere at the 13th Taipei Film Festival in June 2011 and received rave reviews from critics. Ko Chen-tun won the best new actor award at the 48th Golden Horse Awards and at the 12th Chinese Film Media Awards.
"You Are the Apple of My Eye" is slated to open in local theaters on August 23.
