BEAST confirms release date of upcoming album

K-pop idol group BEAST have finalized the date to return to the local music scene with their new mini-album after spending a year and two months of their hiatus.

While hosting the "Hangout Live on Air" event on their official Google+ website Wednesday, the boys announced that "Midnight Sun" will be released on July 22.

“We have worried about our comeback because of the long hiatus since our latest
album ‘Fiction and Fact’ (released in May 2011),” leader Du-jun said in a press release this morning.

“But we are surely happy to meet our fans again, so all of us will try to practice more for our successful comeback.”

While the specific format of the album has yet to be unveiled, it has been noted by the Cube Entertainment officials that the fifth mini-album “Midnight Sun” includes six tracks featuring BEAST’s distinctive musical style.

The firm explained in the statement that "Hangout Live on Air" was held to celebrate the six-member group's 1000th day anniversery of their debut and the boys' fans from 50-country enjoyed chatting with the members during the 30-minute-long live event online.

BEAST made broke into the music scene with the debut album "Beast Is the B2ST" in 2009 and has produced hit songs such as "Shock," "Mystery," "Beautiful" and "Fiction" to date.
