Top K-pop group 2NE1 has called off their scheduled comeback performance on this Thursday's "M!CountDown," on Mnet, due to the death of Minzy’s great-aunt.
The female quartet, who has begun their activities for the new single, “I LOVE YOU,” cancelled their schedule on the music program as Minzy has to attend the funeral service of her grand-aunt Gong Ok-jin, who passed away on Monday, YG Entertainment announced Tuesday.
Late Gong Ok-jin is a master solo dance-performer, who has been famous for her choreography as well as her grand-cousin, Minzy.
The official added that, “Minzy wants to attend the send off ceremony on Thursday to commemorate her great-aunt. Thanks to Mnet’s considerate regard, we have decided to cancel the show for this week.”
In addition to withdrawing their appearance on the music show, the “Lonely” singers have confirmed to join me2day’s star chatting--a popular project run by Korea's social network service me2day that opens chatting rooms online for celebrities and their fans-- without Minzy, on Wednesday.
The four K-pop queens will regroup after Thursday, to continue with the new single’s activity and kick off their world tour, "NEW EVOLUTION," which will be held in ten cities in seven countries starting with the Seoul leg on July 28 and 29.
