Girls' Generation revs up for unit activities as a trio

Three members of top female K-pop group Girls' Generation are revving up for their unit activities as a trio, according to a press release from their agency SM Entertainment.

On Thursday, SM unveiled a photo of the new unit -- Tiffany, Taeyeon and Seohyun -- donned in colorful wigs and bright clothes for their mini-album titled "TWINKLE" set to hit stores on May 2.

The firm explained that the album will feature a number of tracks with different music genres and their music video is soon to be unveiled as well.

Tiffany, Taeyeon and Seohyun made their official debut as part of the nine-member group Girls' Generation in 2007. They have a number of hit songs under their belt including "Gee," "Oh!," "Run Devil Run," "Tell Me Your Wish," "MR. TAXI" and "The Boys."

Separate from their group activities, Tiffany and Taeyeon have performed in musicals "Fame" in 2010 and "Midnight Sun" last year, respectively, while all three girls have lent their voices for a number of TV dramas' soundtracks.
