The news came on Monday through a press release by the firm named Mask Entertainment which also manages the careers of actors Jung Bo-suk, Park Sung-woon, Kim Sung-oh, Oh Hyun-kyung and Kim Ok-vin.

"We are currently looking over various projects so that Lee can return to acting once he is discharged from the military in March 2012 and we will also do everything in our power to support him in his activities overseas in Japan and China as well," an official with Mask was quoted as saying.

Lee said, "I am glad to have signed with a company that I can trust and I am preparing to make my return and meet my fans once again."

Lee made his debut as a singer in 1998 and rose to stardom after starring in TV series "Lovers in Paris" (SBS, 2004), "Sweet 18" (KBS, 2004) and "Smile Again" (SBS, 2006). He has also made several big screen appearances including "My Boyfriend is Type B" (2005) and "Love Now" (2007).

His last project was in MBC's drama "Night After Night" opposite Kim Suna before entering the military in June of last year where he has been a celebrity military officer in Korea's Defense Media Agency.
