IU, 2NE1, BEAST, Super Junior top winners at MelOn Music Awards

Korean artists IU, 2NE1, BEAST and Super Junior have been named the top winners of the 2011 MelOn Music Awards (MMA).

All four teams took two awards at the awards ceremony for this year's MMA held at the Olympic Park in Seoul.

The 18-year-old songstress IU won the prize for best song with her smash-hit tune "Good Day" from her album released late last year, female quartet 2NE1 the prize for best album with their mini-album from July, BEAST the prize for best artist, and Super Junior the prize for most popular artist online.

The four also made it into the Top 10 artists list of the year, based on online votes, alongside singers f(x), LeeSSang, Lena Park, Big Bang, Super Junior, Secret and Sistar.

MMA, into its third year, also handed its best global artist award to female idol group Girls' Generation and best new artist prize to solo male singer Huh Gak.
