KARA overwhelmed with joy for 1st "M! CountDown" win with "STEP"

Korean girl group KARA was crowned the winners on cable music channel Mnet's "M! CountDown" on Thursday.

KARA, who gave their comeback performance on yesterday's show, beat out girl group SISTAR's "So Cool" and Davichi's "Don't Say Goodbye" with their title track "STEP" from their third full-length album of the same name.

"We are extremely happy to have won though we are just glad to be back on stage," member Seungyeon said in their acceptance speech while Gyulee and Nicole shed tears of joy.

KARA, composed of other members Jiyoung and Hara, have made their return to the local music scene for the first time in ten months with their third studio release "STEP."

Just days ago, the girls held a showcase in front of several hundred fans to promote their latest record and will continue to make various appearances on televised music shows and entertainment programs.
