Korean rock band CNBLUE’s album has topped a prestigious albums chart in the Philippines, according to Universal Records' official blog today.
Universal Records, distributing CNBLUE's releases in the Philippines, said that CNBLUE’s first studio album “FIRST STEP” has landed on the No. 1 position on the chart of Astroplus, one of country’s biggest record retails chains for the week of May 16 to 22.
Universal Records then explained that this is the group’s first time taking the lead on a music chart in the country and that their mini-albums “Bluetory” and “Bluelove” placed second and third, respectively, on the chart as well.
CNBLUE -- composed of members Jung Yong-hwa, Kang Min-hyuk, Lee Jong-hyun and Lee Jung-shin -- made their debut in Korea early last with their hit single "Alone" and mini-album "Bluetory" after releasing two singles in Japan.
They made a successful return to the local music scene in late March with their first full-length album "FIRST STEP," which sold over 150,000 copies in Korea alone and saw all 30,000 copies of its limited edition sell out in just a day of going on sale.
The boys have also topped various online and offline music charts with their title tracks "Intuition" and most recently "LOVE GIRL," which is a track from their thank-you album “FIRST STEP +1(PLUS ONE)” released in late April.
Meanwhile, members Jung and Kang have been busy working on their upcoming MBC drama "Heartstrings" which will air next month.
