Korean ballad group 2AM has kicked off the first stop of their Asia tour in the Philippines, attracting over 5,000 fans to their promotional event.
On Monday, the group's producer and promoter Big Hit Entertainment announced in a press release that 2AM flew into the Philippines on April 27 and sang several of their hit songs on local cable channel MYX, which also featured performances from international artists Lady GaGa, Mariah Carey and Ne-Yo.
Their promotional activities continued with the "2AM Grand Showcase" held at the Eastwood Mall Open Park on April 30 where the boys met their fans and celebrated the birthdays of members Lee Changmin (May 1), Jung Jinwoon (May 2) and Im Seulong (May 11).
2AM will continue with their Asia tour till mid-June, visiting several more nations including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Trained and discovered by major talenthouse JYP Entertainment, 2AM released their debut single "This Song" in July 2008.
They have several hit ballads under their belt including "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die," "Time for Confession" and "I Did Wrong" as well as hold their first-ever solo concert last year.
