English pop opera singer Paul Potts and American composer and New Age pianist Kevin Kern will take off on a nationwide tour in Korea throughout the month of May, announced the concert’s producer Music Compass on Thursday.
According to a press release by Music Compass, Potts and Kern who will both be coming to Korea for the seventh time -- concerts and promotional events combined -- will travel to a total eight major cities in the country along with Mostly’s Philharmonic Orchestra.
The concert will kick off in Seoul on May 5 and then take place in Jeju on May 7, Chaongwon on May 8, Incheon on May 10, Gwangju on May 11, Busan on May 12, Daegu on May 14 and Daejeon on May 15.
Paul Potts, a pop opera tenor, became famous after winning U.K.'s top talent show “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2007 where his singing skills were recognized at the age of 36.
The YouTube channel featuring Potts’s audition for the show received over 100 million hits at the time which lead to the success of his first album “One Chance” released the same year that sold over five million copies around the world.
Kevin Kern, currently known for his sweet, relaxing music, remained nameless through his mid-thirties despite his musical talent due to his blindness until noticed by the chairman of Real Music in 1995.
His debut album “In the Enchanted Garden” in 1996 proved to be a great success, being introduced to 40 nations and staying on the Billboard charts for 26 weeks and his second album “Beyond the Sundial” released the following year, also made it into the top 10 list of U.S. Billboard's New Age chart.

At the upcoming concert, Potts will perform the themes songs to classic films including “Moon River,” Romeo and Juliet,” “What a Wonderful World,” “This Is The Moment,” Cinema Paradiso” and “Love Story,” while Kern will play the tunes of “Gone With the Wind,” “Kristine’s Serenade,” “Le Jardin,” “Sundial Dream” among others.
