"SungKyunKwan Scandal" DVD enters Oricon chart in top 5

Historical drama "SungKyunKwan Scandal" [KBS]

The DVD version of KBS' hit TV series "SungKyunKwan Scandal" has entered the top five slots of Japan's prestigious Oricon chart.

According to Oricon's DVD daily chart as of April 21, part 1 and 2 of "SungKyunKwan Scandal," released in the country on April 22, ranked in at No. 4 and 5, respectively, after other local and international DVDs.

"SungKyunKwan Scandal," which starred JYJ member Park Yuchun, Park Min-young, Yoo A-in and Song Joong-ki, is a fusion history drama set during the 18th century revolving around the love and friendship of four students at Sungkyunkwan University.

Kim Yoon-hee (Park Min-young) decides to disguise herself as her younger brother to enter Sungkyunkwan University and there she meets Lee Sun-joon (Park Yuchun), Ku Yong-ha (Song) and Moon Jae-sin (Yoo).

The TV series took home five awards during the 2010 KBS Drama Awards and also brought in viewership ratings in the high ten percent range on TV charts as well as taking the No. 2 spot amongst other Monday and Tuesday dramas during its two-month run starting late-August.
