Korean actress Choi Jung-won seems to be making headway with her career in China, signing with one of China's biggest cosmetics brands and being set to promote Korea's Jeju island.

A press release from Choi's agency Wellmade STARM said today that Choi has recently signed a contract to endorse Carslan through television commercials as well as being appointed a promotional ambassador for Jeju for the next two years for which her posters will adorn subways in Shanghai and other cities in the country.

An official at Well Made Star M added that Choi is also looking into various scripts in preparing for her next project likely to be a Korea-China drama or Chinese film.

Choi had recently opened a Weibo account, the Chinese version of Twitter, which attracted 10,000 followers in the shortest time period for a Hallyu star.

Choi's popularity had soared in China through TV series “Famous Princesses” (KBS, 2006) aired in the mainland in 2009 and most recently through “Wish Upon A Star” (SBS, 2010) which many Chinese watched through Internet downloads.

The 29-year-old actress debuted in 2001 and has since appeared in many television dramas including "All In" (SBS, 2003), "The King and I" (SBS, 2007) and "The Kingdom of The Winds" (KBS2, 2008), for which she won two KBS Acting Awards.
