CNBLUE tops TV music charts

Four-member boy band CNBLUE took the No. 1 spot on televised music programs over the weekend, just two weeks into their debut in Korea.

The group took their first win on music show KBS' "Music Bank" with their song "Alone," beating out previous winning single "We Fell in Love," a duet by Brown Eyed Girls Ga-in and 2AM leader Jo Kwon.

The quartet also won the top Mutizen Song won on SBS' Sunday music program "Inkigayo," beating last week's winner After School.

Other contenders on the shows were BEAST, T-ara and Hyun-A. Pop sensation Girls' Generation and male solo artist Kim Jong-kook gave comeback performances on "Inkigayo."

CNBLUE released two singles in Japan before breaking into the local music scene with their mini-album titled "Bluetory". The group had received much attention ahead of its debut with leader and main vocalist Jung Yong-hwa gaining popularity through SBS TV series "Minamishineyo".
