Girls' Generation 2nd album sees high preorders

K-pop idol group Girls' Generation may be headed toward taking the music industry by storm again, having hauled in nearly 150,000 preorders for their new album.

According to a press release from SM Entertainment on Thursday, the girls' second full-length album, released the same day, received about 60,000 advanced orders online and over 90,000 orders offline.

Major online retailer Yes24 also reported that the album titled "Oh!" had received the most orders since going on presale starting January 24.

Girls' Generation's previous albums, including their first full-length album "Girls' Generation" and their first and second mini-albums "Gee" and "Tell Me Your Wish," had all sold over 100,000 copies each.

The title track from the new record, also titled "Oh," stood atop the daily singles charts of several online music providers a day after its release. Its music video, which premiered on popular multimedia portal GomTV, received over 100,000 hits in two hours of its first showing.

The nine-member girl group is set to give their comeback performance on major broadcaster MBC's televised music show "Music Central" on Saturday.
