Wonder Girls named "100 Things to Watch" by JWT

Korean pop group Wonder Girls have been named "100 Things to Watch in 2010" by global advertising and marketing agency JWT, according to a press release by their agency.

On the "100 Things to Watch" list released by JWT on December 26, the girl band was ranked at No. 99 in the list compiled in alphabetical order, JYP Entertainment said in a press release.

"With their good looks, slick packaging, infectious pop songs and trend-setting videos, this South Korean girl group has conquered Asia and has its sights on the rest of the world," JWT wrote on their Web site in an introduction of the Wonder Girls.

"It is amazing that the Wonder Girls are receiving attention in the U.S. market through a global advertising agency like JWT since they debuted less than a year ago," an official at JYP Entertainment was quoted as saying. "We thank everyone for their support and love."

The five-member girl band, who debuted in 2007, is one of the most successful pop groups in Korea with three consecutive No. 1 singles, "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody". In October, the group's U.S. debut single "Nobody" entered the Billboard Hot100 at No. 76, making them the first Korean artists to be placed on the chart in its 115-year history.

Wonder Girls have been active in the U.S. this year -- opening for popular boy band The Jonas Brothers on their U.S. summer tour, appearing on radios and several television shows including FOX's "Wendy Williams Show" and "So You Think You Can Dance".

The group is currently recording their album in the U.S. due out next February.
