Super Junior’s Lee Teuk Confirms Enlistment Date

Super Junior’s leader Lee Teuk will enlist into the army to fulfill his mandatory two-year military service next month.The multi-talented singer is set to enter the military by getting trained at the 306th draft in the city of Uijeongbu in Gyeonggi Province, Korea on October 30, SM Entertainment said in press release Tuesday morning.The 306th draft is the same place where K-pop dance duo Mighty Mough’s Sang-chu woule be assigned to the same day.After the five-week basic military training, the “Sexy, Free & Single” singer will serve as an active-duty soldier for 21 months despite his back pain from the car accident in 2007.Lee, who has been active with popular variety shows such as SBS “Star King” and “Strong Heart,” will now be discussing how and when he will end the shows' schedule with the producers, SM officials said.Lee Teuk, who made his debut as the leader of top K-pop boy group Super Junior in 2005, has expanded his career into the screen with minor acting roles and actively taken parts in various entertainment programs.The group reigned atop various music charts in and out of Korea with “Sexy, Free & Single," the title tune off from their sixth full-length record of the same name, released on July 1.※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
