'S.I.U (Special Investigation Unit)' ascends to top local box office

Korean action film "S.I.U (Special Investigation Unit)" made its way to the top of the local box office during the fourth weekend of November, pushing five-time winner "Punch" to second place. On Monday, KOFIS (Korea Box Office Information System) showed that "S.I.U," starring Uhm Tae-woong and Joo Won, was the No. 1 film in the country after selling 346,875 tickets during the weekend of November 25 to 27. "S.I.U," helmed by Hwang Byung-gook and also starring actor Jung Jin-young, tells the story of detectives Kim Sung-beom (Uhm) and Kim Ho-ryong (Joo Won) who try to solve a crime dealing with mysterious deaths. Yoo A-in and Kim Yun-seok starrer "Punch" fell to second place during the fourth week of November after attracting 288,874 moviegoers and Sony Pictures' animated feature "Arthur Christmas," voiced by actors James McAvoy and Hugh Laurie, made its debut at No. 3 with 180,315 admits.
