“49 Days” stays atop TV chart for 2nd week

SBS drama “49 Days” grabbed its second consecutive win on the primetime slot for Wednesdays and Thursdays, according to results disclosed by two media research companies on Friday. “49 Days” starring Nam Kyu-ri, Lee Yo-won and Jung Il-woo, was named a winner after raking in average viewership ratings of 13.9 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics’ (TNmS) chart and 15.1 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) poll, the highest marks the drama has ever scored. The romantic fantasy about a wandering soul trying to return to her body in 49 days, has two episodes remaining and is set to finish its run next week. Meanwhile, MBC's “The Greatest Love,” a romantic comedy about a has-been idol singer and a top-class actor played by Kong Hyo-jin and Cha Seung-won, respectively, emerged the new runner-up on the latest chart after posting average viewership ratings of 9.1 percent and 13 percent on TNmS’ and AGB’s surveys, respectively. Finishing last was new KBS series “Romance Town,” a story of life and the love of housekeepers who work for rich families, which premiered this week and yielded average viewership ratings of 7.25 percent on TNmS' finding and 8.4 percent on AGB’s report. The show featuring Jung Gyu-woon and Sung Yu-ri, seeks to depict the difference between people of different social classes through a young housekeeper who suddenly wins a lottery worth over 1.4 billion won.
