“Royal Family” holds onto first place for 3rd week

MBC’s “Royal Family” continued to stay first among primetime dramas for Wednesdays and Thursdays despite seeing a drop in average ratings compared to last week, according to data by two media research companies on Friday. “Royal Family,” a drama about power struggle and conspiracy within a conglomerate family, yielded an average viewership rating of 11.1 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics' (TNmS) chart and 13.8 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) survey, a slight dip of over one percent from the previous week. In this week’s episodes, a middle-aged woman from In-sook’s (Yum Jung-a) past emerges to threatens to divulge her of her past as a bar girl in the U.S. army if she does not support her financially.Meanwhile, SBS’ romance fantasy “49 Days” emerged as the runner-up after marking an average viewership rating of 10.3 percent on both TNmS and AGB’s charts, making it the first time for the show to see a two-digit score.In the latest episode, wandering soul Ji-hyun (Nam Gyu-ri) manages to hide her certification seal needed for selling a land under her name, from her fiancee Min-ho (Bae Soo-bin) and best friend In-jung (Seo Ji-hye) who tried to trick her into a marriage for that purpose among other intentions.
