Super Junior members Sungmin and Yesung [SM Entertainment]
Two of the members from Korean idol group Sungmin and Yesung have been cast to appear in musicals, according to their agency on Tuesday.Sungmin will star as "Ro" in the musical "Akilla" and Yesung has been cast in "Namhansanseong", SM Entertainment said in a press release. In "Akilla", about a passionate love story between characters Ro and Ju, Sungmin will play the male lead "Ro"."Namhansanseong", an original musical based on a novel by Korean writer Kim Hoon, is about the lives of common people during the Chosun Dynasty. Yesung will portray the villain "Jung Myung-soo", a servant-turned-interpreter."We are happy to show [fans] our new sides through musicals. It's our first time so we might lack in many ways but we are practicing very hard with the cast", the two singers-turned-musical actors were quoted as saying.Musical "Akilla" will be presented at the Hanjeon Art Center in Seoul from October 9 to November 8 and "Namhansanseong" will run at Seongnam Arts Center Opera House from October 9 to November 4.
