Singer Tablo's father passes away

Hip-hop artist Tablo's father has passed away due to a chronic illness.

On Monday, a rep with his agency YG Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone that Tablo's father passed away from a chronic ailment at a hospital in Seoul on March 26.

The official said that Tablo and his wife Kang Hye-jung are currently at the hospital and that his coffin will be borne out on Wednesday.

Tablo made his debut in 2003 as part of the popular hip-hop trio Epik High. He then took a break from his activities after speculation arose regarding his educational background from the prestigious Stanford University.

Since then, Tablo has released his new album "Fever's End" which fared well on various local and international music websites.
