Actor Yoo Ji-tae has started filming his first feature film, according to the pic's promoter on Monday.

A press release by Film Marketing Camp said on Monday that Yoo's full-length film "Sansevieria" (translated title) cranked in at Korea's Gyeonggi Province on January 26

The first shoot was of the movie's main female character who will be played by actress So Yoo-jin, opposite actor Bae Soo-bin.

So will take on the role of a woman who has been isolated and Bae a man who too has been left alone in the world with nowhere to go and nobody to lean on.

The movie, set to premiere during the first half of this year, will be a melodrama focusing on the love between the two lonely souls.

Known for his role in Park Chan-wook's "Old Boy" and "Sympathy For Lady Vengeance," Yoo expanded his career into directing and producing short films in 2003 which has received critical acclaim.

His short film "Invitation," which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in, was screened at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in 2009 and his pics "How Does the Blind Dream" and "The Bike Boy" won awards at the Busan International Film Festival.
