“Duo” and “Midas” neck and neck on TV chart

MBC’s “The Duo” marked its sixth consecutive win on one primetime TV chart while SBS’ “Midas” rejoiced its first win on the other, revealed two media research companies on Wednesday.

According to data by Total National Multimedia Research Statistics (TNmS), MBC’s historical drama “The Duo” posted an average viewership rating of 12.9 percent this week, showing a slight drop in numbers from last time but managing to maintain its No. 1 spot.

SBS series “Midas” came very close, however, marking a score of 12.8 percent which is about a 0.4 percent improvement from last time.

In contrast, AGB Nielson Media Research’s (AGB) poll deemed “Midas” the winner of the Mondays and Tuesdays primetime slot this week, yielding an average viewership rating of 15.6 percent while "The Duo" posted a score of 15.1 percent.

Meanwhile, KBS drama “Detectives In Trouble” continued to fall behind in both charts, revealing means of 7.9 percent and 6.9 percent on TNmS’ survey and AGB’s report, respectively.

In this week’s episodes for “The Duo,” Chun-dung (Chun Jung-myung) becomes angry at Dong-nyeo (Han Ji-hye) for discriminating people depending on bloodline and social status. He makes up his mind to become the head of righteous thieves Yaraejeok after rescuing Hunter Kang from a government official.

In “Midas,” In-hye (Kim Hee-ae) begins to fight Do-hyun (Jang Hyuk) when he starts to interfere with her attempt to take over ShinHeung Bank through HanYoung Bank. She in turn, tries to put a stop on Do-hyun’s efforts to revive ShinHeung Bank.

In “Detectives In Trouble,” the guy in disguise of a policeman turns out to be the serial killer who killed the bar girls. The culprit has the childhood trauma of watching his mother, also a bar girl, hang herself.
