“The Duo” rules for 5th week on primetime slot

MBC historical drama “The Duo” went on to triumph for the fifth week in-a-row on the primetime chart for Mondays and Tuesdays, according to the findings by two media research companies on Wednesday.

“The Duo” scored an average viewership rating of 13.7 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics’ (TNmS) chart and 16.7 percent on AGB Nielson Media Research’s (AGB) poll, improving by one percent from last week.

Nobleman Kim Jae-ik (Choi Jong-hwan) decides to continue to accept Gwi-dong (Lee Sang-yun) as his son despite finding out about the switch at birth and tells Gwi-dong to keep it a secret from Chun-dung, (Chun Jung-myung) his real son. Meanwhile Hunter Kang, (Kwon O-jung) the head of the righteous thieves Yaraejeok, gets shot during his clash with military forces.

“Midas” came second after earning an average viewership rating of 12.4 percent on TNmS' report and 15 percent on AGB’s survey, recording improvements of less than one percent.

After putting Yoo Sung-joon (Yoon Je-mun), the head of InJin Capital, in a helpless state by tricking him to resort to illegal means to mobilize money for an M&A, Kim Do-hyun (Jang Hyuk) then declares himself the head of an investment company which will launch a hostile M&A toward InJin Capital. In response, Yoo In-hye (Kim Hee-ae) starts on a favorable M&A.

KBS’ detective series “Detectives in Trouble” came last for another week, yielding an average viewership rating of 7.02 percent and 6.6 percent on TNMS’ and AGB’s polls, respectively, the figures dropping further than last week.

Detective Se-hyuk (Song Il-gook) manages to catch a real serial killer after learning that one of the suspects, Jo Sang-tae, is the father of his friend Min-ju. The criminal was a psychopath who used to know Jo and secretly teamed up with one of Jo’s colleagues to commit murder and theft.
