Korean actress Park Min-young has finished shooting an upcoming horror movie, making it her first role in a feature film.

King Kong Entertainment announced in a press release on Friday that Park, who played the female lead role of So-hee, recently completed filming the horror flick titled "Cat" which will open in local theaters this summer.

"Cat," helmed by Korean director Byun Seung-wook, tells the story about So-hee, a college student in her twenties, who works at a pet shop that begins to suffer from horrific events after the death of her cat.

"It was quite difficult because I had to act alone, without a counterpart, which is one of the characteristics of starring in a horror movie," Park was quoted as saying. "I was fully engaged into working on this since it was my first role in a movie so I am sad that I have to part with my character So-hee after being her for three months."

Park made her debut through a commercial in 2005 and has also appeared in popular sitcom “High Kick (2006)” and several dramas including “Princess Ja Myung Go (2009)."

The actress saw her popularity soar after starring in "SungKyunKwan Scandal," also starring JYJ member Yuchun and actors Song Joong-ki and Yoo A-in, in which she played a girl disguised as a boy.

She is set to begin shooting the upcoming SBS TV series "City Hunters" alongside Lee Min-ho at the end of March.
