The 16th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) will run from October 6 to 14 this year at Korea's second-largest city of Busan, according to the festival on Thursday.

The Asian Film Market will be held from October 10 to 13 on the sideline of PIFF, Asia's largest annual film fest,

Starting this year, the main events of the fest will be held at the Dureraum, or Busan Cinema Complex, which will be used exclusively for PIFF's screenings and events during the fest period while serving as a cultural complex all year round.

Set to finish construction in September, the venue will consist of a mixed-use performance with a seating capacity of 840, four large screening venues, 4,000-seater outdoor screening site, the Asia Media Culture Education Center, and PIFF main office.

The 15th edition of PIFF, which closed on October 15, was the last under the fest's founder and 15-year director Kim Dong-ho, who retired from his post. It showed 306 films from 67 countries and attracted 182,046 people.
