Girl Group Kara’s new album “Girl's Talk” has taken the No.2 spot on Japan's Oricon weekly chart.

The website for the prestigious chart showed on Wednesday that Kara’s first full-length Japanese album ”Girl's Talk” claimed second place on the chart for the week of November 30 to December 6, in just a week of going on sale on November 24.

The album, which had claimed second place on Oricon's daily chart on November 26, has also been certified a gold disc after selling over 100,000 copies.

According to Japanese media, this is the first time in six years that an Asian female group, aside from local bands, to claim the title. The first band was Chinese girl group Twelve Girls’ Band whose album "Shining Energy" sold 118,000 copies in March 2004.

Kara's latest album contains Kara’s past hit songs in Korea recorded in Japanese and is available in three editions - A (includes the album and special DVD), B (includes the album and special pictorial booklet) and C (includes the album and three bonus tracks).

The DVD features never-before-seen clips while the three bonus tracks are the original Korean version of songs "Sweet Days," "Love Is" and "Binks."

Kara is also currently busy promoting its mini-album “Jumping” released in both Korea and Japan last month and are preparing for debut in the upcoming Japanese drama “URKARA” which will be aired in January next year.

Composed of members Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, Kara made their debut with their first album "Blooming" in 2007. The quintet expanded their career to Japan in August this year, signing with Universal Music Sigma, a branch of Universal Music group and releasing their first Japanese single "Mister" in the same month.
