Thirteen-member boy band Super Junior have been picked the most popular Korean idols in Brazil.

According to a survey in Brazil conducted by the Korean Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) on 2,826 youths, Super Junior took first place with 2,137 votes followed by SHINee (1,507), Big Bang (1,471) and BoA (1,315).

Other groups that also made the top 10 were in order, Girls’ Generation (1,310), 2NE1 (1,090), 2PM (1,027), 4minute (978), f(x) (959), and the Wonder Girls (887).

Regina Joung-hee Lim, a correspondent of KOFICE based in Brazil proved the growing presence of Korean pop culture in the country by citing how Wonder Girls’ song “Nobody” played in the background of a beauty contest in Brazil this May and a singing contest and exhibition under the title “K-Boom” is being planned for February or March of next year.

KOFICE, an organ of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) was established in 2003 to promote Korean culture overseas and encourage other civic exchanges.
