Jang Woo-hyuk, Kim So-eun cast as leads in Chinese drama

Korean singer and actor Jang Woo-hyuk and actress Kim So-eun have been tapped to play the leads in an upcoming Chinese drama, according to their respective agencies on Monday. The drama "Secret Angel," which is a ten-part series, is set to be broadcasted through major TV networks of 31 cities in the country and Chinese portal website sohu.com starting on March 21.Jang's agency WH Entertainment said in a press release that Jang will play the character of death angel Hwan while Kim plays an accident-prone angel named L in the series. The two actors began shooting the drama last weekend. It was added in the statement that the program will be aired simultaneously on sohu.com and major TV networks in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and 27 other cities before the drama gets aired on cable networks. Jang began his career as a rapper in the now-disbanded idol group H.O.T in 1996, which was one of the hottest bands during the 1990s.He launched his solo career in 2005 and branched out his activities into China. He landed the leading role in the Chinese-language series "My Amnesia Girl" opposite actress Nam Kyu-ri. Kim made her debut in 2005 in the MBC drama "Sister of the Sea."
