"Arrow The Ultimate Weapon" [Lotte Entertainment]
Korean action pic "Arrow The Ultimate Weapon" dethroned comedy "Unstoppable Family" off the top spot on the local box office this weekend. "Arrow," starring Park Hae-il and Moon Chae-won, reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the box office after attracting 292,931 viewers over the weekend of September 16 to 18, according to the estimates released by Korea Box Office Information System (KOBIS) on Monday. The film, which tells of how Na-mi (Park) leaves his village to find his younger sister Ja-in (Moon) who is missing after the Chosun Dynasty is attacked by the Chung Dynasty of China, has also been chosen as the opening feature for the 6th annual London Korean Film Festival in November. Comedy "Unstoppable Family," starring veteran actress Kim Soo-mi, Shin Hyun-joon and Tak Jae-hoon, followed in second place with 258,466 moviegoers during the same period while Jim Carrey starrer "Mr. Popper's Penguins" held onto its spot at No. 3 after selling 172,688 tickets.
