Girls' Generation Jessica to make debut as runway model

Korean idol Jessica of pop sensation group Girls' Generation will make her debut as a runway model today, strutting the catwalk for famed fashion designer Lee Ju-young today. According to a press release from Lee's office on Tuesday, Jessica was chosen as the main female model alongside Korean actor Jung Gyu-woon for Lee Ju-young's Fall/Winter Collection for 2011/12 to be exhibited at the Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention in Seoul, South Korea. Designer Lee Ju-young is well-known for her collection Resurrection which had been worn by international artists including Marilyn Manson, Black Eyed Peas and Lady GaGa. Jessica made her debut in the nine-member girl group Girls' Generation in 2007 with their first album "Into The New World." The girls have since released a score of hit albums and songs including "Gee," "Genie" and "Run Devil Run." The group expanded their singing careers into Japan in August of last year and have enjoyed much success there as well, becoming the first Korean girl group to place No.1 on the Oricon chart and wining several gold disc status for their albums which sold over 100,000 copies including for their first and second album “Genie” “Gee” and DVD “少女時代到 ～日記念盤～New Beginning of Girls' Generation.” They will release their new single in Japan titled "MR.TAXI / Run Devil Run” on April 13 and then embark on their Japan tour the following month. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
