Latin rock band Santana to perform in Korea in March

Legendary Latin American rock band Santana led by guitarist Carlos Santana, will perform live in Korea in March of next year, according to concert promoter Access Entertainment on Tuesday.The upcoming concert, to be held at the Gymnastics Stadium in the Olympic Park of Seoul on March 9, will be Santana's second time performing in the Korea, the first being in May 1996. The band, established in 1966, made their name known after appearing at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and has since sold more than 100 million copies of their 28 albums which feature a broad range of genres including blues-rock, hard rock, jazz fusion, psychedelic rock and others.They have received a total of 10 Grammy Awards to date and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.Santana is best-known for “Smooth” and "Maria Maria" from their 15th album "Supernatural (1999)" which has sold over 25 million copies around the world.Ticket reservations will be available at online shopping website Interpark starting December 22.Reporter : Heidi Kim heidikim@Editor : Jessica Kim jesskim@<ⓒ10Asia All rights reserved>
