KBS' action-packed TV series "Bridal Mask" closed its curtains this week, ending its three-month run atop the Wednesday and Thursday primetime slot for its seventh win.
According to data accumulated by TNmS [Total National Media Statistics] Friday, "Bridal Mask," starring Joo Won and Jin Se-yeon, scored ratings of 24.3 percent on September 5 and 27.3 percent of the viewers tuned on its finale on September 6.
The patriotic series came to an end with the wedding between Lee Gang-to [played by Joo Won] and Mok-dan [played by Jin]. However, instead of focusing on their happy ending, "Bridal Mask" ended with the death of Mok-dan, who saved Gang-to's life by taking the bullet that was meant for him.
The new TV drama "Innocent Man," starring "SungKyunKwan Scandal" actor Song Joong-ki, Park Si-yeon and Moon Chae-won, will take over the empty spot starting September 12.
Lee Joon-gi and Shin Mina starrer MBC's "Tale of Arang," which may soon take over the No. 1 spot, remained in second place with ratings of 13.1 percent and 11.7 percent during the same time frame.
SBS' teenage drama "For You in Full Blossoms" continued its losing streak in third place with its less-than-stellar ratings in the five percentile range.
In the meantime, AGB Nielsen Media Research's figures showed that KBS' "Bridal Mask" was the most-watched drama as well with ratings of 21.5 percent on Wednesday and 22.9 percent on Thursday.
Coming in at the No. 2 spot on AGB's poll was MBC's "Tale of Arang" with ratings in the ten to 11 percentile range, while SBS' "For You in Full Blossoms" sat at No. 3 with ratings in the five percentile range.
