Park Yuchun of K-pop trio JYJ deleted his official Twitter account last week.
The singer and actor posted on his official Twitter account [@6002theMichy] last Wednesday after giving his fans a heads up about his decision.
His tweet read, “Thank you the unconditional love and support you all have given me. I hope to meet you guys again as a better singer and actor in the future.”
“Thanks again from the bottom of my heart and love you all,” the star added and deleted his account on the same day.
On June 19, the "Rooftop Prince" star wrote on his page, "Twitter... should I delete it?," raising the curiosity of fans over his reasons for quitting the website.
Park's bandmate Kim Jae-joong, who is known to be the most active Twitter user in JYJ, instantly responded to Park's post by saying, “No, no. Don’t delete it."
JYJ last pursued their singing activities as a group in 2011 and since then all three members have been active with their solo activities on TV series and musicals.
Park officially launched his acting career by starring in KBS' "SungKyunKwan Scandal" in 2010, and gained a significant popularity from overseas fans through the TV show.
His success with the latest project on SBS, "Rooftop Prince" (2012), has helped him host a solo meet-and-greet tour in Asia which will launch in Shanghai, China on August 25.
The star will then head off to Taiwan and Thailand in September, but the dates and venues have yet to be revealed.
