Singer Jo Kwon of ballad group 2AM will kick off his activities as a solo artist with his first album next month.
"Jo Kwon's album will most likely become available in late June or early July. Regarding the album's format, it could be a mini-album but we are strongly leaning towards making it a full-length album," an official with his promoter's Big Hit Entertainment told 10Asia in a phone interview Wednesday.
The rep added that the album will list five to six songs but they are still in discussions on whether his title track should be a dance or a ballad tune.
Jo Kwon made his debut as the leader of ballad group 2AM after being trained at his agency, JYP Entertainment, for over eight years.
The group made their official debut in July 2008 with the single "This Song" and gained popularity through K-pop hits such as "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die" and "I Did Wrong."
He had also released his first solo digital single "The Day I Confess My Love," which was featured in MBC's reality show "We Got Married" that he appeared on with Brown Eyed Girls' Ga-in.
