A number of MBC TV series and documentaries have been purchased by several countries in South America, according to a press release from the broadcaster on Monday.
MBC stated that "Jewel in the Palace," "Cinderella Man," "Queen of Reversal" and "Tears of Amazon" were sold to South America during the 2012 National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) held in Miami in Florida of the United States from January 23 to 25.
Argentina's Tecnolpolis TV bought the rights to three-part documentary "Tears of Amazon" and has shown interest in "Tears of the Antarctic" while Panama City's SERTV has acquired the rights to "Jewel in the Palace," "Firebird," "Cinderella Man" and "Goong."
Also, Portugal's PRTV purchased "Cinderella Man" and "Queen of Reversal" while a major cable channel in Ecuador picked up the rebroadcasting rights to "All About Eve," "Stars in My Heart," "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" and "Queen of Housewives."
In the meantime, MBC has plans to add Spanish-language dubbing to TV series "Flames of Desire" and "The Greatest Love."
Established in 1964, NATPE brings together major media buyers, broadcast and cable networks and channels to their annual market to acquire programming, program distribution companies, financiers, advertisers, technology companies and content producers.
