Korean idol L of boy band INFINITE has been cast as one of the main characters in a TV series set to air on cable channel tvN, according to the show's producer on Tuesday.
tvN announced in a press release that L, whose real name is Kim Myung-soo, has been cast as one of the band members in their new Monday and Tuesday series "Shut Up Pretty Boy Band" (translated title) set to air January 30.
L will take on the role of Lee Hyun-soo who is the second guitarist while the series will tell the story of friendship, love and music. It will also star Sung-jun as the leader and main vocal of the band as well as MATE member Lee Hyun-jae, Yoo Min-kyu and Kim Min-seok.
"Just like the title of the drama it will show the good looks of the main cast as well as their understanding in music," an official with the show was quoted as saying.
L, who made his debut as one of the main vocalist in seven-member boy band INFINITE in 2010, recently starred in the Japanese TV series "Jiu: Keishichou Tokushuhan Sousakei."
