Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) directors Lee Yong-kwan and Kim Dong-ho have been appointed head jury and honorary chairman, respectively, of the 3rd annual Okinawa International Movie Festival which kicked off last Friday.
According to a press release from BIFF on Tuesday, Lee will serve as the head of jury of the competition section of the film festival where he will evaluate six movies selected by an audience jury and present the winner with the Golden Caesar Award on the final day of March 27.
Meanwhile, Kim, who was head of the event's jury in its first and second edition, will serve as the honorary chairman of the Okinawa International Movie Festival this year.
Founded by major Japanese entertainment company Yoshimoto Koygyo Co. Ltd., the Okinawa International Movie Festival is the only comedy-focused film festival in Japan and features various domestic and foreign films under various genres including nostalgic comedies, anime, classic and new generation of directors from the next wave.
This year's fest, based on the concept of "Laugh & Peace," will also gather donations and aid to support and assist regions affected by Japan's massive earthquake which hit two weeks ago.
