Actress Kim Ha-neul has been cast in an upcoming movie co-starring actor Jang Keun-suk, according to her agency J.One Plus Entertainment on Wednesday.
The news was delivered through a press release by J.One today, along with the agency stating that she will leave for the Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan tomorrow to take part in a press conference for the film based on a comic titled "きみはペット," translated into "You're My Pet" in English, that won Japan's Kodansha Manga Award in 2003.
The big screen adaptation of the comic will be about a woman played by Kim who receives attention for her pretty looks and capability at the workplace yet knows nothing of the ways of the world when it comes to intrapersonal skills and dating, and Jang who will play a promising classical ballet dancer who becomes her personal 'pet.'
J.One then explained that Kim will film her upcoming pic "Blind," set for release this summer, until mid-April and return to Ibaraki in May to start shooting the latest movie with Jang.
Kim has enjoyed steady popularity in Korea since her debut in 1996, starring in numerous hit TV dramas and movies, including SBS TV series "On Air" and MBC’s “Road No. 1” and films "My Tutor Friend" and "My Girlfriend is an Agent."
2009 pic "My Girlfriend is an Agent" in particular placed her onto stardom throughout Asia for which she toured several countries in the region last year including Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan.
