Super Junior-M rocks Taiwan music charts

Korean idol group Super Junior-M has topped Taiwan's music charts with their new single, according to their agency on Monday.

The 7-member boy band's latest single, "Super Girl", hit No. 1 on various music charts including G-Music and Five Music, in just three days of its release, SM Entertainment said in a press release.

G-Music, Taiwan's most trusted music chart, ranked "Girl" atop both the Chinese and overall ranking charts -- which includes Asian and Western pop music -- for the week of September 18 through 24.

In addition, Super Junior-M topped the weekly sales chart of Five Music, a major record store franchise in Taiwan, during the same period in the Chinese music category.

"We are very grateful to our Asian fans for their great support and attention. We will repay [fans] with better music and performances," the group was quoted as saying.

Their new mini-album "Super Girl", containing songs written by some of the best Korean songwriters including Yoo Yung-jin, is composed of five tracks sung in Chinese and two songs in Korean.

Super Junior-M is a sub-unit of 13-member K-pop group Super Junior. They are made up of five original Super Junior members and two Chinese members, and focus their activities in the Chinese market.
