Korean actress Bae Doo-na's first foray into Hollywood, "Cloud Atlas", has made the first round of the Best Visual Effects Awards at the Oscars. The American Motions Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced that 10 films including "Cloud Atlas" have been shortlisted for the first round of the Best Visual Effects Awards at the 85th Oscars, to be held on 24th February next year at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Other shortlisted films include "The Avengers", "The Dark Knight Rises", "Skyfall" and "The Amazing Spiderman." The five final candidates will be announced on the 10th January next year. In "Cloud Atlas", Bae plays "Sonmi-451" an evolved klone.
