A popular web cartoon that surrounds the life of fashion leaders will be adapted into a TV series next February.

"Fashion King," which was first published online on May 5 of 2011 by cartoonist Keean84, will be remade as a drama titled "Gangnam Style," production firm Achieve Group DN told the magazine Thursday.

The company changed the title of the remake to distinguish it from SBS "Fashion King," starring Yoo A-in and Shin Se-gyeong, which the officials say has no relevance at all to the original comic strip.

"We haven't finalized the casting process yet," an official said, adding that on which channel it will air the remake will be announced on a later date.

Into its 66th episode, the comic is still being published on Korea's portal Naver. With its growing popularity, readers have been posting their own casting versions on blogs that include model-turned-actor Ryoo Seung-bum and actor Jang Keun-suk.
