Actress and Director Ku Hye-sun will visit the 2012 Jecheon International Music and Film Festival with her two latest movies.
YG Entertainment officials announced on Friday that Ku’s full-length film “The Peach Tree” and short movie “Fragments of Sweet Memories” have been invited to the eighth JIMFF, which will kick off its seven-day run in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, on August 9.
“The Peach Tree,” starring actor Cho Seung-woo, Ryu Deok-hwan and actress Nam Sang-mi, portrays the story of Siamese twins, which refers to a person with one body but two faces.
Her other film, “Fragments of Sweet Memories” produced in a 3D format, captures and visualizes sensitive feelings of the male lead, Yoo Seung-ho, recollecting his past memories.
Ku made her debut as a director with short film “The Madonna” in 2009. Including “Magic”(2010) and “You”(2010), her movies have been invited and awarded in various film festivals in Japan, Taiwan and Korea.
The Jecheon International Film Festival is Asia’s first music and film festival. This year, the JIMFF invited 120 films from 26 countries and Ku’s two films will be premiered in the section titled “Korean Music Film Now.”
“The Peach Tree” is scheduled to hit local theaters in October, YG officials noted.
