The official opening date of Korean singer and producer Park Jin-young's debut film is finally set, after a week of internal adjustments to find the appropriate date for the release, according to the film's production company CJ Entertainment on Thursday.

CJ announced in a press release that Park's "The Five Million Dollar Man" (translated title) will hit local theaters on July 19, while its showcase will take place in Seoul next Wednesday.

Originally, "The Five Million Dollar Man" was scheduled to open in theaters on June 28 but the officials said last week that its premiere date has been adjusted as the latest installment of "G.I. Joe" release date has been postponed for its 3D format.

Due to the change, Korea's box office had to make some adjustments in the lineup of June and July's new movies, while in the new lineup, a number of same-genre films as Park's comedy movie have been included.

Describing the situation, "The Five Million Dollar Man" promoters said that this has been done after considering the overall balance for moviegoers.

"The Five Million Dollar Man," helmed by director Kim Ik-ro, tells the story of a regular office worker named Choi Young-in (Park) who runs off with a bag filled with money that he finds it by accident.

He later gets into money-related problems which he tries to solve with the help of Miri (played by actress Min Hyo-lyn).
