Koo Jun-yup says dated Taiwan's Barbie Hsu

Singer and DJ Koo Jun-yup has confessed he once dated Taiwanese singer and actress Barbie Hsu.

Koo made the remark on the "Radio Star" segment of talk show "Golden Fishery" aired on Wednesday, speaking of his romantic relationship with the heroine from popular Taiwanese drama "Meteor Garden" which he said "lasted about a year."

"Meteor Garden" is the TV adaptation of Japanese comic series "Hana Yori Dango" and the equivalent to South Korea's 2009 hit TV series "Boys Over Flowers."

Koo explained that the two had met at Taiwanese singer Tarcy Su's concert at which he performed as a guest singer. His pop duo Clon was one of the most popular K-pop acts in several countries in Asia during the 1990s.

Now 40, Koo entered the entertainment industry in 1996 through Clon. The group was forced to disband however, after member Kang Won-rae became paralyzed from the waist down from a motorcycle accident in 2001. Koo now pursues a career in deejaying.
