IU [Loen Entertainment]
Korean pop starlet IU will release a new single album in two weeks, according to a press release from her agency Loen Entertainment on Monday. Loen announced that IU's single "Spring of Twenties" (translated title) will go on sale on May 11, making it her first release in six months since her second full-length album "Last Fantasy." "Spring of Twenties" will list a total of three tracks including a self-composed song by IU which will be released ahead of the album on May 4. The firm also explained that IU will drop a short film for her single on May 11 which will be in the format of a documentary that will show her personal stories, thoughts and feelings about work and love. "We wanted to test out a new approach in presenting IU's new single and we feel that this will allow for the emotions and story to relay onto the audience," an official with Loen said in the statement. The rep added that she will stage her first performance for the title track at her upcoming concert "REAL FANTASY," which is slated to kick off at Kyunghee University's Peace Palace in Seoul, Korea on June 2. IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, made her debut with her first mini-album "Lost and Found" in September 2008. She has since produced a number of hit songs such as "Boo," "Marshmallow" and "Nagging," a duet with 2AM member Seulong. She recently made her debut into Japan with her single "Good Day" which fared well on the prestigious Oricon music chart. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
